Major Traffic Offenses

For all Major Traffic Offenses listed below the 1st offense requires a Disqualification of your CDL for 1 year.   A second major offense in your lifetime will result in a Lifetime Disqualification of your CDL License.

offenses within a 3 year period, they will disqualify you from driving a CMV for 60 days. If they convict you of 3 or more serious traffic
offenses within a 3 year period, they will disqualify you from driving a CMV for 120 days

Log Book Violations

A truck driver is required to log daily his activities to meet the requirements under the Federal Law.  You are required to log for all 24 hours of the day and the Inspectors can request your logs up to 8 days prior to being inspected.

Inspectors are looking for violations of the hours-of-service regulations. If they find any, you may be placed out of service.


Out of Service Time

Consequences of Being Placed Out-of-Service
• Once out of Service the driver cannot drive any commercial motor vehicle for 10 consecutive hours.

• In addition,  The company will get CSA points, a driver may be fined up to $200, per violation, and the company may receive a $1,000 or greater fine.
