DA’s Office gives protocol on blood tests for York DUIs

The York County District Attorney’s Office has informed York law enforcement of the protocol for applying for Search Warrants to get Blood in York DUI Cases, according to the York Daily Record. This is in response to recent changes in Implied Consent law due to Birchfield v. Lancaster DUI Arrests Increase Over Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend

DUI’s in Lancaster, York, and Chester Counties have been on the rise for several years.  According to an article in the Roxborough Patch, there were a total of 610 DUI arrests and 61 alcohol related crashes over the 2016 Thanksgiving Holiday weekend alone.  The 610 DUI arrests over Thanksgiving were an 11% increase over the previous year’s number of 558. Lancaster City DUI Checkpoint on Nov 23 Leads to 7 Arrests

The day before Thanksgiving has slowly become one of the biggest drinking days of the year.  In response the Lancaster City Police teamed with several other Police departments to conduct one of the biggest DUI checkpoints of the year.     The checkpoints were held on Queen Street and on Orange Street, both located In Lancaster City. New Pennsylvania Law Gives a Second Chance at a Clean Record
